Organization Summary

Plans to provide services for the seniors of Parker County began on June 27, 1975, when a group of citizens met for an organizational meeting to realize a dream. The City of Weatherford provided many hours of preparation for grants and funding; plans were set in motion for the development of a Meals on Wheels program for Parker County. The first activities were held in May 1977 at the old college library building, which became the first senior center. Then, in January 1988, a larger facility with its own Meals on Wheels kitchen opened its doors and has been the home of the Parker County Senior Center ever since.

The Senior Center is a place for those 60 and over to socialize, enjoy nutritious meals, and participate in activities such as pool, bingo, line dancing, art club, walking club, book club, quilting and more. PCCOA provides other important services, as well as an onsite food bank used on an as needed basis and in emergencies for those who need groceries.

PCCOA has built strong partnerships with families, businesses, regional healthcare organizations in and outside Parker County. In 2024, we delivered over 54,042 home-delivered meals through Parker County Meals on Wheels. We also prepared 9,418 onsite meals to client in the Center.

All of our services are provided at no cost to those who are 60 years of age and older in Parker County, Texas.

PCCOA is not a federal or state agency and receives less than 30% of its annual revenue from government or public sources. The vast majority of our programs are funded through the generous support of Parker County residents, businesses, corporations, and foundations.
