Meals on Wheels-Specific Volunteer Details
Individuals, families, church groups, civic groups and businesses are welcome to volunteer for Meals On Wheels. Individuals at least 18 years of age are asked to complete a volunteer application, provide a copy of driver's license and insurance. A background check will be conducted prior to approval. Students under the age of 18 are welcome with approved adult supervision.
Most Meals On Wheels routes in Weatherford can be completed within one hour. Volunteers come to the Center to pick up their meals, starting at 10:00 am. Complementary coffee and donuts are provided while you wait! Volunteers may leave the center with their meals and delivery instructions at 10:15 am. Information, such as printed driving directions, is provided to assist with successful deliveries for each client. Volunteers are asked to report back to the Center if they are unable to make contact with a client on their list, so the staff can follow up with a well-check.
