Everything we do at PCCOA is for our 60+ citizens in Parker County; from the activities, lunches at the center, events, education, the food pantry and Meals on Wheels. We are “Meals on Wheels” for Parker County, Texas!

Parker County Committee on Aging is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receives less than 28% of its annual revenue from government or public sources. The majority of PCCOA programs are funded through the very generous support of Parker County’s residents, as well as businesses, corporations, and foundations. Every dollar you donate goes to the Parker County’s Meals on Wheels program, the Senior Center in Weatherford, and the dozens of other services we provide. And your individual donations are tax-deductible.

The number of seniors in Parker County is growing rapidly and as this growth continues, so do the needs of seniors. Meals on Wheels is a proven public-private partnership that effectively addresses the challenges of aging by promoting health and improving quality of life for Parker County’s most vulnerable seniors. In Texas, it is estimated that 985,792 seniors are living alone, and often isolated. Meals on Wheels delivers the support services that keep seniors in their own homes, where they want to be.

Meals on Wheels’ clients report fewer falls, which cost our nation $31 Billion each year in medical care, hospital stays, and rehab services. Seniors remaining at home, out of hospitals and nursing homes, have a better quality of life. And keeping seniors in their homes, where they are happier and healthier, is more cost-effective. We can provide a senior with an entire year of nutritious Meals on Wheels for roughly the same cost as one day in a hospital.

Too many seniors in Texas are left behind, alone and hungry, trying to stay independent and healthy as they age. As Parker County grows, so does the need for Meals on Wheels and our other services.

Together, we can deliver. Together, we can help 60+ citizens in Parker County, Texas live better and live longer.

So donate…volunteer…do something…do anything to help provide the services to help our seniors live healthier and live longer.
